Photos from Sälgrund Island

On Sälgrund there is a lighthouse, built 1885. Until year 1986 there also was a pilot station on the island. The buildings, left empty for about 20 years, are currently being renovated by the town of Kaskinen.

The scenery around the lighthouse is fascinating and very typical for the Ostrobothnian coast. The shoreline has changed even during my lifetime because of the rapidly rising land (1 m/100y!)
